EDWARD H. KUBO, JR., United States Attorney for Hawaii, announced today that the U.S. Department of Justice, Project Safe Neighborhoods Initiative has made approximately $89,000 available for worthy anti-gun or anti-gang programs in the state.
The deadline for interested groups or organizations to apply is Friday, April 25, 2008. The money will be used to either help reduce gun crimes in our communities, or to support, strengthen, and sustain efforts to prevent and reduce gang involvement among the youth in Hawaii.
