Council Bluffs Man Sentenced For Conspiracy To Distribute Methamphetamine
DES MOINES - On December 13, 2007, Jeffery Monroe Bowman, age 36, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, was sentenced to a term of 170 months imprisonment for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. United States District Judge Ronald E. Longstaff also ordered Bowman to serve a five-year term of supervised release following his imprisonment and imposed a crime victim fund assessment of $100.
On April 20, 2006, Bowman entered a plea of guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. At the time of his plea, Bowman stipulated that from on or about March of 2004, and continuing to on or about October 20, 2005, he knowingly and intentionally conspired with others to distribute at least 4 pounds of a mixture and substance containing methamphetamine to other individuals in and around Pottawattamie County, Iowa.
This case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa. This case was investigated by the Southwest Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, the Council Bluffs Police Department, and the U. S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
