Honduran National Sentenced on Immigration Charges

Davenport, IA- On March 17, 2008 , Oscar Humberto Guevara-Alvarado, 28, of Honduras, was sentenced to 46 months imprisonment following his earlier guilty plea to one count of unlawful entry after deportation subsequent to a conviction for an aggravated felony, announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. United States District Judge John A. Jarvey also ordered Guevara-Alvarado to serve a three year term of supervised release following his incarceration and assessed him $100 for the Crime Victim Fund.

This investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Iowa.
