Des Moines, IA – Matthew G. Whitaker, United States Attorney, for The Southern District of Iowa, and the members of The Iowa Organization For Victim Assistance (IOVA), hereby invite members of the media to the annual IOVA awards presentation in recognition of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.

Presentation to be conducted on the South Lawn of the State Capitol (In the event of rain - it will be relocated to the State Capitol Rotunda - West Wing)

During this celebration of Crime Victims’ Rights Week, Sergeant Joe Gonzalez of the Des Moines Police Department will be recognized for his dedicated service to crime victims by Amy Johnson, President of IOVA. The U.S. Attorney’s Office will also be presenting over $30,000 in usable seized postage stamps to 28 non-profit victim organizations.
