EASTERN IDAHO MAN GETS SEVEN YEARS FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

A Dubois man was sentenced in federal court in Pocatello yesterday to seven years in prison for possessing child pornography on his computer.

David Stone, 44, pled guilty in June to Possession of Sexually Exploitative Images of Minors. His sentence was increased because he possessed more than 600 such images, because some of the images depicted children under 12 years of age, and because some portrayed children being subjected to violent and sadistic conduct.

Stone also faces charges for sexual abuse of a minor in Clark County. That trial is scheduled to start December 11.

Following his release from federal prison, U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge ordered Stone to serve15 years on supervised release, during which time he may have no contact with children, cannot use a computer hooked to the Internet, and must undergo treatment for sexual deviancy.

Stone admitted paying a fee to an Internet site in order to access the images and download them. Some of the minors depicted in his files were identified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as actual child victims of sexual abuse.
