SealThe 2008 U.S. Attorney’s Citizens Academy in Topeka is a joint project of U.S. Attorney Eric Melgren and the Washburn University School of Law.

Instructors from the U.S. Attorney’s office, Washburn University, the FBI, the DEA, ICE, ATF, Health and Human Services, Postal Inspection Service, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and the Topeka Police Department will teach the sessions.

CourthouseTopics will include crimes against children, human trafficking, gangs and violent crime, white collar crime, health care fraud, and immigration offenses.

Classes will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays (Oct. 7, Oct. 14, Oct. 21, Oct. 28, Nov. 4 and Nov. 11, 2008). Applications are due by Sept. 8, 2008. For more information, call Jim Cross, public information officer, at 316-269-6481 or email james.cross2@usdoj.gov
