CASEY COUNTY POSTMASTER SENTENCED TO THREE YEARS PROBATION FOR EMBEZZLEMENT

BOWLING GREEN, KY - Judy Clark, age 60, of Dunnville, Kentucky, was sentenced to 3 years probation in United States District Court, Bowling Green, Kentucky, for embezzling from the Postal Service, U.S. Attorney David L. Huber of the Western District of Kentucky announced today. In addition, restitution in the amount of $13,000 was imposed.

Clark plead guilty on March 31, 2008 to charges of embezzlement listed in the Indictment filed on December 5, 2007. The Indictment charged that on at least ten different occasions, Clark fraudulently made Postal Service Money Orders payable to herself. The Indictment charged ten instances when she, while working as the Dunnville Postmaster, fraudulently stole money orders. The total amount charged in the Indictment is $3,049.49.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Bryan Calhoun, and it was investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service, Office of the Inspector General.
