HOPKINSVILLE WOMAN SENTENCED TO TWO YEARS PROBATION FOR THEFT OF HER DECEASED MOTHER’S CHECKS
– Daughter cashed over $27,000 in Social Security checks
PADUCAH, KY - Deborah A. Pryor, age 48, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, was sentenced to 2 years probation in United States District Court, Paducah, Kentucky, for taking money which had been deposited into an account belonging to her deceased mother. The money represented funds that her mother had been entitled to based upon Social Security benefits. Pryor had power of attorney for her mother, and received over $27,000.00 in Social Security benefits, U.S. Attorney David L. Huber of the Western District of Kentucky announced today. Judge, Thomas B. Russell, United States District Court, also imposed restitution in the amount of $27,210.
The case was prosecuted by the Western District of the United States Attorney Lettricea Jefferson-Webb, and it was investigated by the Social Security Administration, Office of the Inspector General, Office of Investigation.
