BARREN COUNTY FELON INDICTED FOR POSSESSION OF A FIREARM
– A Felon in Possession of a Stolen Handgun
BOWLING GREEN, KY - A federal grand jury in Bowling Green, returned an indictment against Tony Allen Clark, age 27, of Glasgow, Kentucky, on charges of possession of a stolen firearm by a convicted felon, David L. Huber, United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky, and Paul Vido, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Louisville Field Division, jointly announced today.
The Indictment alleges that on October 19, 2007, Clark, a convicted felon, who had previously been convicted in Barren Circuit Court, Barren County, Kentucky, under indictment 01CR00250, for Trafficking in a Controlled Substance I (Cocaine), Possession of a Controlled Substance I (Cocaine), Possession of Marijuana, and Failure to Yield to Right of Way, was in possession of a Glock, .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun, model-23, serial number, BKH717 US, which he knew to be stolen.
In the event of a conviction, the maximum penalties are 10 years imprisonment, a $250,000.00 fine, and supervised release for a period of 3 years.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mac Shannon. The Bowling Green Field Office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) conducted the investigation in partnership with the Barren County Sheriff's Office and the Barren-Edmonson County Drug Task Force, as part of ATF’s mandated mission to reduce violent crime and other threats to public safety.
Clark is scheduled to be arraigned before Judge July 23, 2008, at 9:30 a.m., in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
This is a Project Backfire prosecution. Project Backfire is a cooperative effort by local and state law enforcement, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the United States Attorney’s Office to ensure that firearm offenses are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the state and federal law.

only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless
proven guilty.
