FEDERAL GRAND JURY
CHARGES ILLEGAL ALIEN

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DENIS ABRAHAM CHIRINO-CHIRINO, age 27, a resident of Mexico, was charged in a one-count indictment by a Federal Grand Jury for illegal re-entry by an alien previously deported, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

According to court documents, on June 13, 2007, DENIS ABRAHAM CHIRINOS-CHIRINOS, an alien who had previously been removed and deported from the United States, was knowingly and unlawfully found in the United States within the Eastern District of Louisiana, without have applied to the Attorney General of the United States or his designated successor, the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security for re-admission to the United States.

If convicted, DENIS ABRAHAM CHIRINO-CHIRINO faces a maximum term of imprisonment of two years, a fine of $250,000.00 and one year of supervised release following any term of imprisonment.

U. S. Attorney Letten reiterated that the indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

The case was investigated by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U. S. Attorney Brian J. Capitelli.
