ALIEN PLEADS GUILTY TO ILLEGAL ENTRY

CARLA ANTONIA MURILLO REYES, age 28, a resident of Honduras, plead guilty today before U. S. District Judge Helen G. Berrigan to illegal entry, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.
According to court documents, on September 7, 2007, CARLA ANTONIA MURILLO REYES, an alien, was knowingly and unlawfully found in the United States within the Eastern District of Louisiana. Judge Berrigan scheduled a sentencing hearing for March 5, 2008. CARLA ANTONIA MURILLO REYES faces a maximum term of imprisonment of six (6) months and a fine of $5,000.00. A one-count Bill of Information was filed on October 5, 2007 against CARLA ANTONIA MURILLO REYES.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U. S. Attorney W. Scott Laragy.
