ILLEGAL ALIEN PLEADS GUILTY IN FEDERAL COURT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OLVIN ORLANDO RAMIREZ-CARCAMO, age 33, a resident of Honduras, pled guilty before U. S. District Judge Eldon E. Fallon to one count of illegal reentry of deported alien, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

OLVIN ORLANDO RAMIREZ-CARCAMO faces a maximum statutory penalty of two (2) years imprisonment.

According to the factual basis, on August 13, 2007, OLVIN ORLANDO RAMIREZ-CARCAMO was arrested in Orleans Parish on multiple traffic violations. Further investigation determined that he was unlawfully in the United States without the Attorney General of the United States or his designated successor, the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, having expressly consented to his re-application for admission into the United States.

OLVIN ORLANDO RAMIREZ-CARCAMO was indicted by a federal grand jury on August 23, 2007.

The case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U. S. Attorney Andre’ Jones.
