ALIEN PLEADS GUILTY AFTER ILLEGAL RE-ENTRY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FELIX BARBOZA-HERNANDEZ, a/k/a Felix Barboza, age 35, a resident of Mexico, a resident of Mexico, plead guilty to a one-count indictment by a Federal Grand Jury for illegal re-entry by an alien previously deported, announced U. S. Attorney Jim Letten.

According to court documents, on or about February 8, 2008, FELIX BARBOZA-HERNANDEZ, an alien who had previously been removed and deported from the United States, was knowingly and unlawfully found in the United States within the Eastern District of Louisiana, without have applied to the Attorney General of the United States or his designated successor, the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security for re-admission to the United States.

A sentencing hearing was scheduled for August 8, 2008 by Judge Ivan R Lemelle.

FELIX BARBOZA-HERNANDEZ faces a maximum term of imprisonment of (10) ten years, a fine of $250,000.00 and three years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment.

The case was investigated by the Immigration and Customs and Enforcement.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney W. Scott Laragy.
