BALTIMORE MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE COCAINE
Baltimore, Maryland - Tyrone Henderson, age 24, of Baltimore, pleaded guilty today to possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, announced United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein.
According to the plea agreement, on January 17, 2007, members of the Baltimore City Police Department executed a search warrant at 1440 Presstman Street in Baltimore, locating Henderson in a third floor bedroom. Police recovered a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol from Henderson’s pants pocket. Ten ziplock bags with cocaine, packaged for street sale were recovered from the room along with some personal papers of Henderson.
Henderson faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release. U.S. District Judge Andre M. Davis has scheduled sentencing for January 18, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Henderson remains detained.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein thanked Baltimore City State’s Attorney Patricia C. Jessamy and Assistant State’s Attorneys Antonio Gioia and Bethany Durand, the Baltimore City Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for their assistance in the investigation and prosecution. Mr. Rosenstein commended Assistant United States Attorney David Copperthite, who is prosecuting the case.
