EDMONDSON VILLAGE CRACK DEALER EXILED TO 10 YEARS IN PRISON
Baltimore, Maryland - U.S. District Judge J. Frederick Motz sentenced Davon Brown, age 28, of Baltimore, Maryland, today to 10 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, announced United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein.
According to the plea agreement, on December 8, 2006, Davon Brown, was arrested after a lengthy investigation of his involvement in the distribution of drugs in the Edmondson Village area of Baltimore City. The investigation included, among other things, controlled purchases of crack cocaine made from Brown and a wiretap investigation on Brown’s cellular telephone. At the time of his arrest, a search warrant was also executed at the home Brown shared with his girlfriend in the 300 block of East Lorraine Avenue in Baltimore. Officers recovered drug packaging material; over 30 grams of crack cocaine; gel caps of heroin packaged for street sale; a loaded P380 firearm; and over $4000 in the master bedroom of the home.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein recognized Baltimore City State’s Attorney Patricia C. Jessamy and Assistant State’s Attorneys Tony Gioia, Melissa Copeland and Michael Studdard, for their assistance in this state and federal wiretap investigation and related prosecutions.
U.S. Attorney Rosenstein also thanked the Baltimore City Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for their investigative work and commended Assistant United States Attorneys James T. Wallner and Michael C. Hanlon, who prosecuted the case.
