HAGERSTOWN MAN SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON FOR CONSPIRACY TO DISTRIBUTE CRACK COCAINE
Baltimore, Maryland - Chief U.S. District Judge Benson E. Legg sentenced Gerald Jones, age 36, of Hagerstown today to 10 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, announced United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein.
According to his guilty plea, during 2006 and 2007, Jones was a member of a conspiracy that trafficked crack cocaine in the Hagerstown, Maryland area, New York and other places. Jones purchased the cocaine in New York and sold it to others in New York and Hagerstown.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein thanked the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Hagerstown Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for their investigative work in this Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force case, and commended Assistant United States Attorneys Paul M. Tiao and Christopher J. Romano, who prosecuted the case.
