RIVERDALE COCAINE TRAFFICKER EXILED TO 30 YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON
Greenbelt, Maryland - U.S. District Judge Roger W. Titus sentenced Delfon Lebrew Hare, age 29, of Riverdale, Maryland today to 30 years in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute cocaine base, commonly known as crack, announced United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein. Judge Titus determined that Hare is a career offender based on multiple prior drug convictions and sentenced him accordingly.
According to the guilty plea, on April 27, 2006, Hare delivered approximately 62 grams of cocaine base to an individual at Ager Road in Hyattsville, Maryland and received $1,800. Similarly, on May 9, 2006, he delivered 62 grams of cocaine base to an individual in Prince George’s County and received $1,800. On August 9, 2006, he gave an individual 62 grams of cocaine base. Law enforcement officers observed all three transactions and recovered the cocaine base.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein thanked the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Prince George’s County Police Department for their assistance in the investigation. Mr. Rosenstein commended Assistant U.S. Attorney Deborah A. Johnston, who prosecuted the case.
