For Immediate Release MEMPHIS MAN SENTENCED TO 100 MONTHS FOR ROBBING THREE MISSOURI BANKS A Memphis, Tennessee, man was sentenced today for bank robbery, announced United States Attorney Catherine L. Hanaway. ERIC MITCHELL was sentenced to 100 months on one felony count of bank robbery. He appeared before United States District Judge Charles A. Shaw. On April 13, 2005, Eric Mitchell robbed the Ozarks Federal Bank in Festus, Missouri of $12,993. On April 28, 2005, Mitchell robbed the Bank of America facility in Cape Girardeau, Missouri of $6,590. On May 5, 2005, Mitchell robbed the Regions Bank in Sikeston, Missouri of $7,464. Hanaway praised the Cape Girardeau Police Department, the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, the Festus Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their work on the case. Assistant United States Attorney Keith D. Sorrell handled the prosecution for the Government. |
