THREE AUDRAIN COUNTY MEN INDICTED ON FEDERAL FIREARMS CHARGES

St. Louis, MO: Three Audrain County men were indicted today on federal firearms charges, United States Attorney Catherine L. Hanaway announced today.

In three separate indictments, Corey Owens, Kynan Fox and Troy Dollens, all of Mexico, Missouri, were indicted by a federal grand jury for illegally possessing firearms while convicted felons.

“These indictments show that no community is immune from the dangers of gun crime,” said Hanaway.  “I am pleased to work with local and federal law enforcement to aggressively prosecute these crimes throughout the Eastern District of Missouri.”

All three cases were cooperatively investigated by the Mexico Police Department, the Audrain County Prosecutor’s Office and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF). Assistant United States Attorney Tom Albus is handling the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

If convicted, all three men face the possibility of up to 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000 or both.

The charges set forth in an indictment are merely accusations, and each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
