JEFFERSON COUNTY WOMAN CONVICTED OF  FEDERAL METHAMPHETAMINE CHARGES

St. Louis, MO: Pamela Clarke was convicted of federal methamphetamine charges, United States Attorney Catherine L. Hanaway and Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer announced today.

“People need to realize that not only is methamphetamine a dangerous drug, possessing it and making it is illegal; and one by one, with the assistance of Sheriff Boyer, we will prosecute people who continue to manufacture this dangerous drug and make sure they go to prison,” said Hanaway.

PAMELA CLARKE, Dittmer, Missouri, was convicted late Wednesday of one count of possession of pseudoephedrine to manufacture methamphetamine, one count of conspiracy to manufacture in excess of 50 grams of methamphetamine, one count of possession with intent to distribute in excess of 50 grams of methamphetamine and one count of maintaining a location in Dittmer, Missouri, for the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine.  The three-day trial was held before United States District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh.  After the verdict was read, Ms. Clarke was taken into custody pending sentencing on July 29, 2008.

Following are the maximum penalties that Clark is facing on of these crimes:

  • Conspiracy to manufacture in excess of 50 grams of methamphetamine--five to 40 years in prison and/or fines up to $2 million
  • Possession of pseudoephedrine to make methamphetamine--20 years prison and/or fines up to $250,000
  • Possession with intent to distribute in excess of 50 grams of methamphetamine--five to 40 years in prison and/or fines up to $2,000,000
  • Maintaining drug-involved premises--minimum of 20 years prison and/or fines up to $500,000

In addition to Sheriff Boyer, Hanaway commended the work performed on the case by the Jefferson county Municipal Enforcement Group and Assistant United States Attorneys Jeannette Graviss and Noelle Collins who prosecuted the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
