FREDERICK MANFRED SIMON FOUND GUILTY IN U.S. FEDERAL COURT


Bill Mercer, United States Attorney for the District of Montana, announced today that on October 31, 2007, in Spokane, Washington, after a 3-day federal district court trial before Senior U.S. District Judge William Fremming Nielsen, FREDERICK MANFRED SIMON, a 44-year-old resident of Kalispell, was found guilty of wire fraud. Sentencing is set for February 13, 2007.

SIMON faces possible penalties of 5 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and 3 years supervised release.

First Assistant U.S. Attorney Kurt G. Alme and Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan M. Archer prosecuted the case for the United States.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Spokane.
