DEREK ARD, PEGGY GLOCK and SUMMER OWENSBY PLEAD GUILTY IN U.S. FEDERAL COURT


Bill Mercer, United States Attorney for the District of Montana, announced today that during a federal court session in Billings on February 8, 2008, before U.S. District Judge Richard F. Cebull, DEREK ARD, a 31-year-old resident of Bozeman, PEGGY GLOCK, a 57-year-old resident of Bozeman, and SUMMER OWENSBY, a 22-year-old resident of Bozeman, pled guilty to conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute and distribution of methamphetamine. Sentencing is set for May 8, 2008. ARD and GLOCK are currently detained and OWENSBY was released on special conditions.

At the change of plea proceeding, the government stated it would have proved at trial the following:

From late 2004 through June of 2005, ARD, GLOCK, OWENSBY, Tamalee Lindbom, Marvin "Buster" Quesenberry, Crystal Busby, and others were involved in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in Central Montana.

Lindbom, Quesenberry and Busby pled guilty to federal charges. Quesenberry and Busby have been sentenced and Lindbom is awaiting sentencing.

ARD and OWENSBY each face possible penalties of a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison and could be sentenced to life in prison, a $4,000,000 fine and 5 years supervised release. GLOCK face possible penalties of a mandatory minimum of 5 years in prison and could be sentenced to 40 years, a $2,000,000 fine and 4 years supervised release

Assistant U.S. Attorney James E. Seykora prosecuted the case for the United States.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
