RALPH LEON FOX FOUND GUILTY IN U.S. FEDERAL COURT


Bill Mercer, United States Attorney for the District of Montana, announced today that on March 10, 2008, in Missoula, after a 1-day federal district court trial before U.S. District Judge Donald W. Molloy, RALPH LEON FOX, age 49, was found guilty of sexual exploitation of children and receipt and possession of child pornography. Sentencing is set for July 24, 2008. FOX is currently detained.

FOX faces possible penalties of mandatory life imprisonment, a $250,000 fine and lifetime supervision.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Marcia K. Hurd prosecuted the case for the United States.

The investigation was a cooperative effort between the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Flathead County Sheriff's Office, and the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation.
