TYRONE ALLISON PLEADS GUILTY IN U.S. FEDERAL COURT


Bill Mercer, United States Attorney for the District of Montana, announced today that during a federal court session in Billings on April 4, 2008, before Chief U.S. District Judge Richard F. Cebull, TYRONE ALLISON, a 26-year-old resident of Billings, pled guilty to conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. Sentencing is set for July 10, 2008. He is currently detained.

In an Offer of Proof filed by the United States, the government stated it would have proved at trial the following:

From the spring of 2005 until sometime in July of 2006, ALLISON engaged in a conspiracy with several other individuals to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine in the Billings area.

ALLISON faces possible penalties of a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison and could be sentenced to life, a $4,000,000 fine and 5 years supervised release.

Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Sheila R. Kolar and Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric B. Wolff prosecuted the case for the United States.

The investigation was a cooperative effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
