KENNETH HELGESON FOUND GUILTY IN U.S. FEDERAL COURT


Bill Mercer, United States Attorney for the District of Montana, announced today that on April 30, 2008, in Great Falls, after a 2-day federal district court trial before U.S. District Judge Sam E. Haddon, KENNETH HELGESON, a 61-year-old resident of Dodson, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. Sentencing is set for August 18, 2008. HELGESON is currently detained.

HELGESON faces possible penalties of 6 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and 3 years supervised release.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Vince Carroll prosecuted the case for the United States.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
