DANA FRANCIS MATT FOUND GUILTY IN U.S. FEDERAL COURT
Bill Mercer, United States Attorney for the District of Montana, announced today that on July 10, 2008, in Missoula, after a 2-day federal district court trial before U.S. District Judge Donald W. Molloy, DANA FRANCIS MATT, a 30-year-old resident of Ronan, was found guilty of receipt and possession of child pornography. Sentencing is set for December 11, 2008. MATT is currently detained.
MATT faces possible penalties of a minimum mandatory 5 years in prison and could be sentenced to 20 years, a $250,000 fine and lifetime supervision.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Marcia K. Hurd prosecuted the case for the United States.
The investigation was conducted by the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
