The United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of North Carolina is based in Charlotte. The Charlotte office serves the counties of Alexander, Alleghany, Anson, Ashe, Caldwell, Catawba, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Union, Watauga,
Wilkes. Presently, there are four civil and nineteen criminal Assistant United States Attorneys ("AUSAs") who work in Charlotte along with a legal staff of twelve.
The Charlotte court consists of three United States District Judges, one senior district judge, one Bankruptcy judge, and two Magistrate judges. Charlotte judges also sit in the Statesville Division. |
