MANCHESTER MAN SENTENCED FOR ILLEGALLY
REENTERING THE UNITED STATES AFTER BEING DEPORTED
CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE – United States Attorney Tom Colantuono reports that Hector Alfredo Pena-Euceda of Manchester, New Hampshire, was sentenced today to 18 months in federal prison for illegally reentering the United States after being deported to his home country of Mexico.
Pena-Euceda, who is also known as “Silverio Murillo Ortega,” was deported or removed from the United States on December 12, 2003. On or about April 24, 2008, however, a United States Border Patrol Agent discovered that Pena-Euceda was once again illegally present in the United States when he encountered him in North Conway, New Hampshire. The agent arrested Pena-Euceda and he was later charged with illegally reentering the United States after having been deported.
On June 17, 2008, Pena-Euceda pleaded guilty to that charge. Today, in United States District Court in Concord, New Hampshire, he was sentenced to serve 18 months in federal prison and two years of supervised release when he completes his prison sentence. When Pena-Euceda is released from prison he faces further deportation proceedings.
This case was investigated by the United States Border Patrol of the Department of Homeland Security and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mark S. Zuckerman.
