Redmond Man Sentenced to 78 Months for Possessing Child Pornography
Computer of Redmond Man Held Thousands of Images of Child Pornography
Eugene, Ore. — Christopher David Geenen, 29, of Redmond, Oregon was sentenced to serve a 78 month term of imprisonment today by United States District Judge Ann Aiken for possessing child pornography. Geenen pled guilty on September 27, 2007, to knowingly possessing computer disks and data storage media which contained visual depictions of actual minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
The case arose from an undercover investigation into the distribution of child pornography via the Internet. Geenen was identified as having automated a computer server with the sole purpose of receiving and distributing child pornography. A search warrant was later served at Geenen’s residence and hundreds of thousands of images of child pornography and child erotica were found on his computer. In pleading guilty, Geenen admitted that he knowingly possessed over 600 images of actual minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on computer disks and data storage media which had been transferred by computer via the Internet. He also admitted that the material portrayed sadistic and masochistic conduct and other depictions of violence.
Upon release from custody, Geenen will serve a three year period of supervised release. During his supervised release he must abide by a number of conditions which include mental health counseling, restricted access to computers and the Internet, and registration as a sex offender.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Sean B. Hoar.
