LITTLESTOWN MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO FEDERAL DRUG AND GUN CHARGES

Martin C. Carlson, Acting United States Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced today that Daniel Hamm, Sr., age 34, of Littlestown, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty in federal court to distribution and possession with intent to distribute cocaine hydrochloride and cocaine base and felon in possession of a firearm. The guilty plea was entered before United States District Judge John E. Jones, III. As a result of the guilty plea, Hamm faces up to 30 years’ imprisonment.

According to Acting U.S. Attorney Carlson, beginning in February 2007 through April 2007, an undercover detective from the Adams County Drug Task Force purchased multiple grams of cocaine hydrochloride from Daniel and Darlene Hamm totaling over 40 grams.

On April 14, 2007, Pennsylvania State Police and the Adams County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the residence of Daniel and Darlene Hamm. During the search, officers located 10 grams of cocaine hydrochloride and a .380 caliber pistol.

Darlene Hamm previously pled guilty on October 23, 2007 to distribution and possession with intent to distribute cocaine hydrochloride and cocaine base.

Sentencing of both Daniel and Darlene Hamm has not yet been scheduled.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Pennsylvania State Police and the Adams County Drug Task Force and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Daryl F. Bloom.
