NEWS RELEASE Lehighton Man Sent to Prison For Letting Drug Dealers Use His Home Thomas A. Marino, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, announced that a 48-year old Lehighton man was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge James M. Munley to serve more than four years in federal prison for allowing cocaine and crack dealers to sell the drugs from his residence in Carbon County. Marino stated that Jesse Neff was sentenced to 51 months in federal prison. Neff previously pleaded guilty to permitting others to store, distribute and use illegal drugs at his residence on Packerton Dam Road during late 2004 and early 2005. Neff was indicted by a federal grand jury on September 20, 2005, following an investigation by the FBI, the Pennsylvania State Police, and local police from Carbon County. Judge Munley also ordered that Neff be placed on three years of supervision by the U.S. Probation office following his release from prison. Neff must also pay a $100 special assessment. Marino noted that Assistant United States Attorney Francis P. Sempa prosecuted the case. **** |
