GUILTY PLEA OF SHELLEY ROBERTS
[GREENEVILLE, TN] Shelley Roberts, 24, of Tazewell, Tennessee, pled guilty on May 27, 2008, in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee at Greeneville, to federal bank fraud. Sentencing has been set for July 2, 2008 at 9:00 a.m., in United States District Court in Greeneville.
Roberts faces a term of imprisonment of up to one year, a fine of up to $100,000; supervised release for not more than one year; $25 special assessment and restitution as ordered by the court.
Andrew Johnson Bank employed Roberts as a bank teller at its Morristown branch for two years. The one-count information to which Roberts pled guilty today was the result of an ongoing investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Assistant United States Attorney Helen Smith represented the United States.
