- Wednesday, August 23, 2006 - On August 22, 2006, a federal grand jury sitting in Chattanooga, Tennessee, indicted Jack Burchett, age 52, 852 Amerine Road, Maryville, Tennessee, for retaliation causing bodily injury against a federal grand jury witness, a violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 1513(a) and (c).
- Tuesday, August 22, 2006 - A grand jury sitting in Chattanooga, Tennessee, returned a three-count felony Indictment today charging Tennessee State Senator Jerry Wayne Cooper, McMinnville, with bank fraud, mail fraud and conspiracy to commit bank and mail fraud.
- Thursday, August 17, 2006 - As a result of her guilty plea on February 9, 2006, to four counts of income tax evasion for the years 2000 through 2003, Margaret D. Sanson, of Tullahoma, Tennessee, was sentenced today in United States District Court, by the Honorable Curtis Collier, United States District Judge, to serve twenty-one (21) months in federal prison, followed by three (3) years of supervised release.

- Tuesday, August 15, 2006 - John K. Foster, II, age 23, of Johnson City, Tennessee, pled guilty on Monday, August 14, 2006, to count two of an indictment charging Foster with possession of child pornography.
- Tuesday, August 1, 2006 - The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee held a press conference at the United States Attorney's Office in Knoxville to distribute to local law enforcement agencies the proceeds of forfeited properties involved in the case of United States v. Tony Stafford.

Titus Reed.
- Tuesday, July 18, 2006 - Connie Smith Dyer Hunley, 40, formerly Connie Smith Dyer, of Maynardville, Tennessee, was sentenced today by the Honorable Thomas A. Varlan, United States District Judge, to serve forty-one (41) months in prison, and to pay $600,000 in restitution, followed by five (5) years of supervised release.
- Tuesday, July 18, 2006 - Representatives from across the State of Tennessee met in Nashville to discuss the formation of a state-wide methamphetamine enforcement task force. The formation of the task force will support existing task forces (South/East Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force, West Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force) and operations in the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Tennessee.
- Monday, July 17, 2006 - A federal grand jury in Knoxville, Tennessee, returned a two-count indictment against JAMES MICHAEL WEST (a.k.a James West and a.k.a Mike West), 42; JOANNE BAKER WEST, 39; RONALD SCOTT WEST, 41; and, BERNADETTE TRENT WEST, 47.
- Monday, July 17, 2006 - Sarah Ann Staup, 58, of Knoxville, Tennessee was sentenced today by the Honorable Thomas A. Varlan, United States District Judge, to serve twelve (12) months and one (1) day in prison, and to pay a $10,000 fine, followed by 2 years of supervised release.
