ABSTRACT: DRMS is a Department-wide database that contains real property and space management information which is required for the economical, efficient and effective planning of the acquisition, management and disposal of real property assets.
PURPOSE: The system was created and is maintained to permit the Department and its organizations to track all of its leasehold interests nationwide, both those leased by GSA and DOJ. The system is used in the formulation of the Department's budget request for GSA assigned rent. It is also used for the preparation of the monthly rent bills for the Offices, Boards and Divisions.
ACCESS CONSTRAINTS: Each Bureau's facilities staff has direct read and write access to the FIRM database information for that particular Bureau. Some personnel of the Offices, Boards and Divisions have read access to their particular organization's information. The JMD/FASS has read and write access to the entire database.
USE CONSTRAINTS: Users of DRMS are restricted to only those access privileges necessary to perform assigned tasks.
AGENCY PROGRAM: The JMD/FASS is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive inventory of all the Department's leasehold interests. It is also charged with the provision of Department-wide rent estimates to assist in the formulation of the Department's rent budget. DRMS is the tool used to accomplish this mission.
SOURCES OF DATA: The majority of information contained in DRMS is provided by JMD/FASS and the individual facilities staffs of the Bureaus within the Department. Some information is also provided by GSA.
