Tampa Bay Federal Agencies’ Black History Program
Brigadier General R. Scott Dingle of the United States Army served as the guest speaker for the 23rd Annual Tampa Bay Federal Agencies’ Black History Program. This year’s theme, “African Americans in Times of War,” calls our attention to the heroic contributions of African Americans during our Nation’s military conflicts, from the Revolutionary War to present-day operations. During his remarks, BG Dingle stressed his mantra of “stay focused; stick to it; get it done,” a phrase that resonated with the crowd of federal employees, high school and college students.
U.S. Attorney Maria Chapa Lopez, who served in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, welcomed BG Dingle to the event hosted at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa.
Program highlights included musical and dance performances by local students and the Presentation of Colors by Strawberry Crest High School’s Army JROTC program.
