U.S. Attorney Visits Re-Entry Model

On August 12, 2013, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder outlined several call-to-action items to implement criminal justice reformation. Among those items was a call to support re-entry initiatives throughout the country. On September 30, 2013, Acting U.S. Attorney Lee Bentley visited one of the MDFL’s most notable programs – Operation New Hope/Ready4Work. Founded in 1999 as a faith-based non-profit community development corporation, Operation New Hope has maintained a two-pronged business model vital to sustaining broken urban communities, affordable housing and successful workforce reintegration of ex-offenders.
