Programs
The U.S. Attorney's Office of the Eastern District of Louisiana is involved in a number of programs and projects in our community. Some of our major efforts are listed below.
The Law Enforcement Coordination was established in 1981 in all 94 U.S. Attorney's Office by order of the U.S. Attorney General. The LEC provides a networking focus for law enforcement agencies committed to the ideal of cooperation and coordination at all levels of state, local, and federal law enforcement. |

Our offices provides to the public a LEP brochure entitled, “Federal Protections Against National Origin Discrimination.” Employees are encouraged to distribute this brochure and make reference to our web-page when contacting individuals, participating in civic functions or speaking to community groups. |

Project Safe Childhood (PSC) is a Department of Justice initiative launched in 2006 that aims to combat the proliferation of technology-facilitated sexual exploitation crimes against children. The threat of sexual predators soliciting children for physical sexual contact is well-known and serious; the danger of perpetrators who produce, distribute, and possess child pornography is equally dramatic and disturbing. |

Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is a nationwide initiative that brings together federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement officials, prosecutors, and community leaders to identify the most pressing violent crime problems in a community and develop comprehensive solutions to address them. |
Victims of crime may experience feelings of confusion, frustration, fear and anger. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana and the Victim/Witness Unit is dedicated to making sure that victims of federal crimes and their family members are treated with compassion, fairness and respect. |

The Department of Justice, and several other federal agencies including, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, are responsible for investigation and remedying of civil rights complaints. |

Staff members from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Louisiana routinely attend meetings throughout the community to share its mission and vision and offer programming designed to educate the public on a myriad of crime prevention topics. |
