Frequently Requested Records and Proactive Disclosures
Subsection (a)(2) of the FOIA requires agencies to “make available for public inspection and copying” four categories of records regarding agency operations and non-exempt records requested under the FOIA which may become the subject of subsequent requests. See 5 U.S.C. § 552(a)(2). If some portions of the record have been redacted pursuant to the FOIA, the codes may be matched up with exemptions in the FOIA, as explained further here.
