The Task Force on Faith-Based and Community Initiatives is looking
for undergraduate, graduate or law students interested in justice-related
social service grantmaking or constitutional law and eager to assist
with projects related to the Task Force's mission, which is to identify
and overcome barriers that impede the full participation of faith- and
community-based nonprofits in the Department's grants process. The
successful applicant will have strong research, writing, computer, and
communication skills. An interest in the administration's Faith-Based
and Community Initiative is also desirable but not required.
Possible assignments include research projects related to policy and
legal issues, writing informational materials about the Task Force's
activities, mission and programs, and assistance with data collection.

Time commitment: 20 to 40 hours per week
Duration: 3 to 5 months. The Task Force selects an
intern for Spring (January to May), Summer (May to August), and Autumn
(August to December) sessions. Spring applications are due November
15. Summer applications are due March 1. Autumn applications are due
August 1.
Salary: Volunteer (without compensation) or work study
