In 2019, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released a memorandum entitled, "Myth-Busting #4 - Strengthening Engagement with Industry Partners through Innovative Business Practices," dated April 30, 2019. This memorandum encouraged agency leadership to seek better ways to communicate with industry so they can better understand the commercial marketplace, attract new contractors, and encourage acquisition partners to use new processes and develop, test, and offer more modern solutions.

DOJ is committed to increasing the percentage of dollars going to small businesses and to increase opportunities for disadvantaged small businesses that have been historically underserved in the American economy. The DOJ Scorecard assesses how well the agency reach their small business contracting goals.
USAspending.gov is a publicly accessible, searchable website mandated by the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006 to provide access to information on how Federal tax dollars are spent.
The Department offers business and contracting opportunities to support its efforts in enforcing the law and defending the interests of the U.S. according to the law; ensuring public safety against threats foreign and domestic; providing federal leadership in preventing and controlling crime; seeking just punishment for those guilty of unlawful behavior; and ensuring fair and impartial administration of justice for all Americans.
Partnering with a prime contractor can be a profitable experience as well as a growth opportunity for a small business and for companies new to the Government contracting process. The U.S. Small Business Administration retains a master list of prime contractors who have established small business offices to assist them with partnering with small businesses. Small businesses are encouraged to contact prime contractors directly for information about current and upcoming subcontracting opportunities.
