FEDERAL PROSECUTION OF FORMER SANTA FE PRIEST DANIEL BALIZAN

Indictment in United States v. Daniel Balizan, 23-CR-945 (filed under seal on June 27, 2023; unsealed on June 29, 2023).

On June 27, 2023, a federal grand jury in Albuquerque, N.M., returned an indictment charging Balizan with coercion and enticement. The indictment was unsealed on June 29, 2023, after Balizan was arrested in Springer, N.M. The public is reminded that charges in an indictment are merely allegations and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
