Internships

An internship with INTERPOL Washington offers insight into the growing nexus of transnational crime as well as law enforcement in the United States and around the world. Interns may receive the following opportunities:

• Exposure to a wide variety of law enforcement partners, including law enforcement detailees onsite from agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), and other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies
• Knowledge of the criminal justice system and both its domestic and international scope, impact, and mechanisms
• Awareness of issues affecting international criminal investigations
• Ability to analyze and summarize complex criminal activities
• Expansion of network for future job opportunities, including mentorship from active law enforcement officers and INTERPOL Washington personnel
• Attendance of field trips to nearby law enforcement headquarters and training sites

At this time, INTERPOL Washington offers full-time, nonpaid internships for six-month cycles (January-June; July-December). Upon request, INTERPOL Washington may coordinate with educational institutions to receive college credit. INTERPOL Washington will not provide housing.

  • French/Spanish translation skills preferred
• Human Trafficking and Child Protection
• Office of the Director
  • Exceptional writing skills
• Office of the Chief Information Officer
  • Technical skills in Application Development, Data Management/Architecture, Systems Architecture and Management, Information Security, IT-Business Analysis, and Help Desk Management.  Part Time Opportunities available.

  • Administration
  • Budget and Finance
    • Seeking applicants with strong analytical abilities and spreadsheet/database skills
  • Compliance
    • High organizational skills and great attention to detail preferred
  • Public and Congressional Affairs
    • Writing skills, digital media, and/or congressional background preferred

Requirements for Consideration

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must reside in the United States for three of the last five years
• Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
• Third- and Fourth-year college student preferred
