Susan Riley

Susan is a magna cum laude graduate of Wesleyan University and a graduate of Georgetown University Law School.  She served as law clerk to the late Honorable June L. Green, of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and as a Trial Attorney in the Federal Programs Branch of the Civil Division of the Justice Department.  Immediately prior to joining the Office, Susan was Senior Associate General Counsel for Litigation at Howard University. Susan joined the Office in 1994 and served as Chief of Employment Discrimination Litigation and Chief of the Long Island Civil Division prior to her being appointed as Chief of the Civil Division in September 2003.  In January 2021, Susan was appointed Acting Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney. In January 2022, she was appointed Counsel to the U.S. Attorney.
