Susan T. Lehr

United States Attorney Susan T. Lehr is a career prosecutor who began with the Department of Justice, United States Attorney’s Office in September 2000. Prior to joining the United States Attorney’s Office, Ms. Lehr worked in the Buffalo County, Nebraska County Attorney’s Office and the Douglas County, Nebraska County Attorney’s Office. She was a Special Assistant United States Attorney from 1999 to 2000. She received her law degree from the University of Denver College of Law in 1988.

In the United States Attorney’s Office, Ms. Lehr served as a line assistant in the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Office from 2000 to 2007 and in the General Crimes Unit from 2013 to 2019.  From 2007 to 2013 and 2019 to 2023, she served as Chief of the Drug Enforcement Unit. From 2021 to 2023, she also served on a detail to the United States Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C. In January 2023, she was appointed as First Assistant United States Attorney. Effective July 1, 2023, Ms. Lehr was sworn in as Acting United States Attorney and effective January 28, 2024, Ms. Lehr was court appointed as the United States Attorney until a successor is nominated by the President and confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
