The National Elder Abuse MDT Peer Support Community

In collaboration with the California District Attorney's Association (CDAA), the Elder Justice Initiative (EJI) has created a peer support community to aid elder justice multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) to communicate with and learn from one another. This community includes a traditional moderated listserv, a documents library for sharing relevant resources, and provides the ability for members to message each other directly. This project is one of a series of resources created by EJI to enhance communication and collaboration among elder justice projects across the country and support the development and sustainability of elder abuse multidisciplinary teams.

As an elder justice professional serving on an elder abuse MDT, you are part of a small specialized community.  We designed this forum to provide an opportunity for teams to lean on one another’s unique experiences, expertise and perspective.  If you would like to join the National Elder Abuse MDT Peer Support Community, please follow the steps outlines below.

Step One

Create a profile.

Be sure to retain the Username and Password you create.

For security purposes, only individuals with a .gov, .edu, or .org email address will be permitted to join this community.

NOTE: If you are a CDAA member or if you have registered to attend a CDAA training event, you already have a profile and do not need to create another one—you can proceed to STEP TWO.

Step Two

Send an email request to join to one of the moderators

  • Talitha J. Guinn-Shaver, MDT Technical Advisor, U.S. Department of Justice, Elder Justice Initiative (Talitha.J.Guinn-Shaver@usdoj.gov)
  • Erin Martinelli, Director of Training Project Development, California District Attorneys Association (emartinelli@cdaa.org)

Once your request has been approved, you will receive an email confirming your request to join, as well as information to get you started in the National Elder Abuse MDT Peer Support Community.
