Northeast Strike Force
Together with federal and state law enforcement partners, the Northeast Strike Force works to increase accountability in the health care industry by decreasing the presence of fraudulent providers; and to combat the opioid crisis by identifying and dismantling opioid diversion schemes.
Where We Are
The Northeast Strike Force, operating in collaboration with the United States Attorneys’ Offices for the Eastern District of New York, the District of New Jersey, and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and with agency partners, has successfully prosecuted health care fraud schemes involving doctors and other medical professionals, medical corporations, telemedicine, diagnostic testing, physical and occupational therapy, pharmacies, laboratories, opioids, prescription drugs, and medical devices, among others. The Strike Force has brought cases involving the defrauding of Medicare and Medicaid, among other health insurance programs, and is a leader in investigations and prosecutions related to telemedicine schemes.
Involvement
The Northeast Strike Force regularly participates in national and regional fraud enforcement actions, including the 2022 COVID-19 Enforcement Action; the 2022 Opioid Enforcement Action; the 2021 COVID-19 Enforcement Action; 2021 National Health Care Fraud Enforcement Action; the 2020 National Health Care Fraud and Opioid Enforcement Action; the 2019 Northeast Regional Enforcement Action; and the 2019 Operation Brace Yourself Enforcement Action.
