Maritime Unit

One of the greatest threats to our nation’s security is the relentless maritime assault by international drug cartels aiming to flood our country with narcotics.  NDDS, in addition to coordinating cases brought under the Maritime Drug Law Enforcement Act, represents DOJ in the multifaceted maritime operational, coordination and policy arenas encompassing the spectrum of interagency relations.

This includes:

  1. The interdiction of drugs on the high seas.
  2. Maritime extraterritorial crimes, such as piracy.
  3. Maritime domain awareness.
  4. Information sharing.
  5. Whole-of-government threat response.
