Law Student Volunteers

The U.S. Attorney’s Office offers unpaid internships for law students during the summer and the school year. Interns work in either the Criminal or Civil Division under the supervision of experienced Assistant U.S. Attorneys (AUSAs).

Application Process

Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, unofficial law school transcript, and a legal writing sample. The cover letter should identify (1) whether the applicant seeks to intern for the Criminal or Civil Division; and (2) the office (Las Vegas or Reno) to which the applicant is applying. Applications are considered on a rolling basis. Space is limited during the summer and the school year.

Successful applicants display excellent academic credentials, superior legal research and writing abilities, and a strong commitment to public service.
